Fibres
Fibres are the structural parts of the plant tissue, which are not broken down by enzymes during digestion. They are totally or to some extent metabolized in the large intestine. Soluble fibres might have a prebiotic effect; 'food for the own good bacteria'. Non-soluble fibres take up water.
Originate from various plants; such as cereals, leguminous plants, fruits, roots, and vegetables.
Bread, mueslibars, cereals, beverages, fibre-tablets, dairy products and other food where you want to have an added healthvalue - e.g. in functional food.
