Lactic acid
Lactic acid is - in its natural form - liquid ; is available however also in powder and sprayed on a carrier. The liquid product can have different concentrations and purities. For certain applications there are buffered qualities.
Lactic acid is produced through fermentation of sucrose. You make a difference between natural (L+) and synthetic (D-) lactic acid. The natural lactic acid is exactly the same one as the human body itself produces. It is also this type that is used in food production.
Lactic acid is used to adjust the pH-value in many various types of food. It is also preferred in many products thanks to its milder taste, for example in confectionery products, salads/dressings, fish products.
