Tataric Acid

Tartaric acid is available in various granulations. Tartaric acid is a stronger acid, compared to citric acid. 1 part of citric acid can be replaced by approx. 0,8 - 0,9 part of tartaric acid.

Tartaric acid exists naturally in many fruits. The natural form, L - tartaric acid, is produced by tartar, which is a by-product from the wine-industry. The acid is also synthetically available as DL-tartaric acid, which however is not allowed in food products.

The largest areas of application for tartaric acid today, are in quite separated areas: production of emulsifiers, pharmaceuticals and even the construction industry.
