Whey protein

Whey protein is a yellow-white powder. Available in many qualities, depending on application.

Whey is a leftover product from cheese production (where casein precipitates with the help of rennet). In the first step, whey is concentrated and dried. Afterwards, there is a number of filtering- and cleansing steps, aiming to improve the quality. Price and quality are dependent on how far these steps are taken.

Is used in ice-cream, chocolate, bakery products, and yogurt.
